How To Start A Conversation: 8 Tips And Conversation Starters

In this post, you’ll get 20 topics and activities for Business English lessons. Your next step will be to file your tax and employer identification documents. The California Business Investment Services unit provides tailored site selection services for businesses, real–estate executives, and site selection consultants. Using the right model is the single highest-impact decision you can make. A better approach is to create an .md file with context about you. You’re spending tokens on the same intro over and over.

When your conversation reaches approximately 80% of the context window’s capacity, Copilot CLI automatically starts compacting the context in the background. This leaves a buffer of approximately 20% so that tool calls can continue to run while compaction is in progress. If the context fills to approximately 95% before compaction finishes, Copilot CLI pauses briefly to wait for compaction to complete before continuing.

If done successfully, Kliff will lean against the tree while the NPCs have the slowest conversation of all time. Here is one of my favorite conversations from that documentary. The Skin Deep documentary inspired the conversation that night.

In addition, regularly using other tools alongside Claude keeps you honest about which one is performing best for different task types. You’ll see your session bar, your weekly limits bar, and the extra usage toggle at the bottom. Switch it on and Claude keeps working past your limit, billing you at standard token rates. If you’re having one heavy session, this is smarter than committing to the full jump from $20 to $100, or $100 to $200. The five-hour rolling window starts the moment you send your first message and resets five hours later.

You get full context at a fraction of the token cost. This is one of the most effective ways to manage claude usage limits during long working sessions. The context window is everything the model can “see” at once when generating its next response. It includes your system prompt, the conversation so far, every tool call and its output, and every file that’s been read. Claude Code has a context window of one million tokens.

Go to the sidebar → click Projects → create a new Project → upload your recurring files there. Now every conversation inside that Project can reference those files without re-paying the token cost. Every follow-up message adds to the conversation history.

All the context, all the files, the entire approach, right there waiting. Last week I was debugging a payment flow, got pulled into a meeting, and completely forgot where I was. Came back hours later, typed /history, found “Debug this payment webhook race condition”, ran claude –resume with that session ID, and picked up exactly where we left off. Each row shows when it happened, which project, what you were working on, and the session ID to resume. It’s basically git log for your Claude conversations.

Many people focus too much on what to say rather than their delivery. You can then start the loop again by asking a new sincere question (Inquire). To ease into a conversation, we can ask a question about the situation we’re in.

I think back to what we were last talking about and then ask a relevant question. In day-to-day life, we need to break the ice before we can start interacting with someone. When you say something positive, you’ll come off as more friendly.

When you start a new chat session, you begin a new conversation with the AI. Each session has its own context window and can run with a different agent type and permission level. You can run multiple sessions in parallel, each focused on a different task or topic. Use the sessions list to monitor and switch between your active sessions. While using the free Claude plan, there is a session-based usage limit that will reset every five hours. Also, the number of messages you can send will vary based on demand, and we may impose other types of usage limits to ensure fair access to all users.

Ask Jenn Whitmer this question, and she’ll tell you her BFFs would describe her as bold, energetic, Wishedlove and expressive. “Full of joy and ready to give that to others,” she says. You might also learn that she’ll break into song at the drop of a hat and has a contagious laugh.

There’s a surprising amount of detail here that can really shape your experience with Claude Code and almost all of it comes from managing your context window. Some students will struggle with certain subjects as they just don’t know enough about the topic. If it’s a bit of a challenge then push through but if they can’t even talk about a topic in their native language then it may be an idea to move on to another subject. As well as the frequency of correction, consider the amount being corrected. Especially if a student is starting out and is a bit nervous.

Each line is a JSON object with your prompt text, timestamp, project path, and session ID. Think of it as a log of every input you’ve ever sent across every project. You don’t have to exit Claude Code to switch sessions anymore.

Past Kent left Future Kent a lot of sessions called “explain this function” and they’re all useless now. When I originally wrote this, the picker was bare-bones. Now it shows an interactive list with session summaries, message counts, git branch names, and timestamps. You can press A to toggle between current directory and all projects, or B to filter by your current git branch. This is particularly difficult, because due to context rot, the model is at its least intelligent point when compacting.

Great for “I stepped away for lunch and need to continue.” I use this one daily. But because the session was focused on debugging, the other warning might have been dropped from the summary. While the most natural course is just to continue, the other four options exist to help manage your context. Jonathan is a native English teacher with 4+ years of teaching experience.
